LUSAS is the trading name of Finite Element Analysis Ltd. – an expanding UK-based specialist engineering analysis software developer.

In 1970, at Imperial College London, a group of research workers began the development of the London University Structural Analysis System. Led by Paul Lyons, their passion for creating a system which could solve the most complex structural problems would eventually become commercial.

In 1982, Finite Element Analysis Ltd was formed. Retaining the same drive for creating a flexible, powerful and singular solution, the company has grown in size ever since and is now a global enterprise, trading as 'LUSAS'. LUSAS products and services are at the heart of the design of some of the world’s most iconic infrastructure projects.

With an increasing focus on usability and interoperability, our software can be applied to the simple and complex alike. We continue to release reliable solutions that have the flexibility to be applied to diverse applications. This, combined with our unique singular environment, puts the power of innovation in the hands of our clients.

We have always adopted a single solution approach to our product. This offers you, the engineer, flexibility to consider general infrastructure problems in a variety of ways in one convenient product.

Whether you are designing a bridge, a building or a tunnel, with LUSAS you are working in one environment and one model space. This approach differentiates us from other providers where separate products are generally required for specific engineering applications.

LUSAS is flexible enough to allow you to take many approaches to the same problem and it provides you with all the information you require to easily evaluate the merits of each.

Application-specific data does not need to be exported and imported between software products, so there is no potential for information loss or incompatibility.

LUSAS allows you to create both a detailed structural model and a detailed ground model in one place. Without this approach, data would have to be passed between separate products and the modelling of interaction would be compromised.
